Donor Advised Fund

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account set up through a sponsoring organization, such as a community foundation or financial services company. You can contribute to your DAF at any time, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to qualified charities like Hospitals for Humanity over time.

We are proud to partner with donors who would like to use Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) to support our medical programs. Donor Advised Funds offer a flexible and tax-efficient way to manage your charitable giving, allowing you to make a significant impact on the underserved communities we work in.

Benefits of Donor Advised Funds

  • Tax Advantages: Contributions to a DAF are tax-deductible in the year they are made. You can avoid capital gains taxes on appreciated assets contributed to the DAF.
  • Flexibility: You can contribute to your DAF at any time and recommend grants to HFH and other charities on your own schedule.
  • Strategic Giving: Manage your charitable giving with a long-term perspective, allowing you to support HFH in a way that aligns with your financial and philanthropic goals.
  • Legacy Planning: DAFs can be part of your legacy planning, enabling you to involve your family in charitable giving and ensuring continued support for causes you care about.

How to Support HFH through Your DAF

  • Establish Your DAF: If you don’t already have a DAF, you can establish one through a sponsoring organization such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or your local community foundation.
  • Contribute to Your DAF: Make contributions to your DAF in the form of cash, stocks, or other assets.
  • Recommend a Grant: Contact your DAF sponsoring organization to recommend a grant to Hospitals for Humanity. Provide them with our legal name, address, and tax identification number (TIN).
  • Notify Us: Let us know about your recommended grant so we can properly acknowledge your generosity and keep you informed about the impact of your support.
