Dr. Segun Ajayi

Founder/CEO

Dr. Segun Ajayi works in International Healthcare Management and Consulting.  He is the CEO/Founder of Hospitals for Humanity (HFH).  Since founding HFH in 2006, Dr. Ajayi has worked with several international government officials to organize and implement 25 Medical Mission Initiatives, where volunteer medical professionals provide free medical services to people who do not have access to quality health care.  To date, Dr. Ajayi and HFH have procured over $50 million worth of free medications, medical equipment, surgeries, and volunteer services, enabling the organization to treat over 200,000 patients from communities in the Philippines, Haiti, Senegal and Nigeria. Dr. Ajayi holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  From 2001 to 2003 he was a Business Team Leader at Abbott Labs, a global broad-based healthcare company, where he was in charge of implementing and supporting several Abbott Lab products.  He graduated from the American International School of Medicine.

Executive Director

An award winning nurse with expertise in forensic nursing, crisis intervention, cultural diversity and emergency medical services centered toward victims of sexual assault, interpersonal violence, elder abuse and child abuse. With a BSN in Nursing from North Park University, Chicago, Illinois, she is also a certified International Public Health Intensivist.

Teresa Isichei Pounds, PharmD

Clinical Pharmacy Director

A seasoned pharmacist and a Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist, she has expertise in Clinical pharmacy education, Pharmacy Residency Programming, Pharmaceutical services and Patient care coordination. Among her many impactful roles, she serves as a preceptor for Mercer University, University of Georgia, South University, Xavier University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr Olawale Olabiyi

HfH Paediatric Cardiologist

A brilliant and dedicated paediatric cardiologist, Dr. Olabiyi has proficiency in Cardiovascular outcomes research and he is a member of Paediatric Cardiology Associates. His professional interests include inpatient paediatric cardiology and non-invasive imaging. He has a particular interest in the single ventricle program and transition of cardiology care from paediatric to adult.

Dr. Queenette Daniels

Staff Paediatric Cardiologist

Dr Queenette Daniels attended the University of Benin, Benin City and obtained an MBBS from the same University in 1997. She had her residency training in Paediatrics at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Surulere Lagos and obtained a Fellowship in Paediatrics from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2011. She attended a Master Training Program in Paediatric Subspecialties, Paediatric Cardiology at the University of Padova, Italy in 2014 where she brilliantly defined her research work on surgically corrected ALCAPA.

Since 2014 She has excellently and brilliantly managed patients with both congenital and acquired heart disease at various centres such as Zankli Medical centre, Garki Hospital, Nisa Premier Hospital Abuja. Presently She trains teaches and supervises residents in paediatric cardiology at the Federal medical centre Keffi. Her professional interest is non-invasive imaging and her special interest is fetal echocardiology and interventional cardiology.

Mary Halima Afegbua

Head, Legal Services

A seasoned Human Resource and Legal Professional with over 12 years’ extensive experience in Human Resource Management and Legal practice. She holds sound practical knowledge in key Human Resources and Legal in Organizational Leadership functions including Corporate Governance, Compliance Management and Contract Management & Negotiation. Halima brings a rich blend of solid legal knowledge and expertise and holds a growing record of sterling performance in aligning people, resources and processes in the attainment of strategic objectives.

In addition to her current position as Head, of Legal Services in the Nigerian operations of HFH, her passion for making a difference leads her to volunteer in various capacities in different NGOs in Nigeria. Halima also recently set up her own NGO, Love Unrestrained Initiative, in April 2021 in Nigeria, which caters to the well-being of widows and vulnerable persons in Nigerian society.
