Christopher Joseph
He attended Njiwaji Primary School in Damaturu, Yobe State, Nigeria. His quest for knowledge led him to Federal Government College Buniyadi in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, where he graduated in 2001. In 2003, he enrolled in a nursing program at Dr. Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery in Damaturu, Yobe State, graduating in 2006 with a Diploma in Nursing. In 2011, he received a higher diploma certificate in critical care nursing. Between 2013 and 2014, he graduated from the College of Education Azare with a postgraduate diploma in public health. In 2021, he also received a certificate in aeromedical medicine for extreme altitude and pre-hospital trauma life support from the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine Foundation.
He began his professional career with the Plateau State Hospital Management Board as a nursing officer, rising to the rank of senior nursing officer before transferring his service to Jos University Teaching Hospital in 2014. He continues to work at Jos University Teaching Hospital as a chief nursing officer in both the intensive care unit and the high dependency unit. In 2021, he had the privilege of working with the United Nations in Somalia, which gave him the opportunity to travel to other crisis areas like South Sudan as an ICU nurse and an aeromedical transport nurse.
In 2023, he had the opportunity to work with Hospital for Humanity as an ICU nurse. Due to his commitment and interest in working with HFH, he was interviewed by the HFH onboarding team and was subsequently assigned as the ICU and volunteer manager for HFH, a position he holds to date.
