Dr. Omonigho Ekhomu
Her journey continued with a pediatrics residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Driven by a commitment to global health, she returned to Nigeria for her NYSC, emerging with state awards due to her outstanding leadership.
In Nigeria, she collaborated with pediatric cardiologists and served as the Medical Director for Slum2School, organizing multiple medical outreaches. In 2017, she pursued her Pediatric Cardiology fellowship, including an 18-month research stint at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by her fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in 2019.
Afterward, she worked at CHOP CICU and volunteered for her first cardiac surgical medical mission with Hospitals for Humanity. She has since taken on the role of Global Development Clinician, coordinating HFH's clinical, research, and development initiatives while practicing in San Antonio, Texas.
