Dr. Segun Ajayi
Since establishing Hospitals for Humanity in 2006, Dr. Ajayi has partnered with several private and public healthcare sector leaders to organize and implement numerous innovative healthcare programs, empowering medical professionals to provide various medical services to those who do not have access to quality healthcare. A proven leader, uniting diverse teams of international professionals to deliver necessary medical treatment in response to global crisis.
Under Dr. Ajayi’s leadership, HfH has secured over $150 million in free medications, medical equipment, surgeries, and volunteer services. This remarkable achievement has enabled the treatment of more than 200,000 patients in the Philippines, Haiti, Senegal, and Nigeria, making a profound impact on these communities.
In 2008, Dr. Segun Ajayi was honored with the prestigious Nigerian Leadership Initiative (NLI) Associate Fellowship, recognizing his exemplary leadership and commitment to societal development within Nigeria. The NLI emphasizes cultivating a new generation of visionary leaders who are dedicated to driving sustainable progress across Nigeria.
From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Ajayi served as a Business Team Leader at Abbott Labs, a global leader in healthcare. In this role, he was responsible for the implementation and support of various Abbott Lab products, showcasing his expertise in the healthcare sector.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago and later graduated from the American International School of Medicine.
